Place monkey towers, pop waves of bloons and upgrade your defence in Bloons Tower Defense 3, a strategy game you can play free in your browser.
Bloons Tower Defense 3 is a tower defense game about stopping a parade of balloons. Colourful bloons float along a fixed track, and you stop them by placing monkeys beside the path. Each monkey pops bloons with darts, bombs, ice or something stranger. Every popped bloon pays out cash, and you spend that cash on more monkeys and better upgrades.
Most games on Doodle Jump are about reflexes: bounce, dodge, time the jump. This one is closer to a puzzle. You are not steering anything. You decide where to put towers and what to upgrade, then watch the wave play out. A round can be quick, but a full map takes a while, so it suits a longer sit-down.
The idea is easy to grasp. Bloons that reach the end of the track cost you lives, and when your lives run out the run is over. Later waves bring tougher bloons that hide layers inside layers, so a setup that handled the first rounds easily can fail against the later ones.
This is a mouse game. The control line in the catalogue mentions arrow keys and WASD, but placing and upgrading towers is done by pointing and clicking. Pick a tower from the shop panel, click a free spot beside the track to place it, then click a placed tower to open its upgrade options. If you are on a phone or tablet, tapping stands in for the mouse. A real mouse is more precise for dropping towers into tight corners.
Pick a map and a difficulty, then start the first wave. You begin with a small amount of cash. Early on, buy a few cheap towers near the start of the track. Between waves you can add towers or upgrade existing ones, and you can speed rounds up once your defence is solid.
Bloons Tower Defense 2 is the earlier game in the series, with the same idea and an older feel. Day D Tower Rush is another game about defending against incoming enemies. If you would rather get back to quick reflex play, Helix Jump and Ovo 2 ask for timing instead of planning.
It runs in the browser with nothing to install, which makes it easy to open for a few rounds and come back to later.
Use the mouse. Pick a tower from the shop, click a free spot beside the track to place it, and click a tower to upgrade it. Taps work the same way on a touch screen.
Yes. It plays free in your browser on doodlejump.io with no download or account.
Each bloon that reaches the end of the track costs you lives. When your lives run out, the run ends.
It runs in a modern browser, so it should load on either. A mouse is more precise than touch for placing towers.
