It is a match-three tower defense game: you swap resource tiles on a grid, line up three of a kind, and the matches turn into towers, cannons and walls that guard your castle against attackers that arrive after a limited number of moves.

How to play

Use the arrow keys or WASD to move and the mouse to aim and select; on a phone, tap and swipe. In practice the mouse or a finger does most of the work: pick a tile, swap it with a neighbour, and watch the board resolve.

Match three of the same resource and it upgrades into a defensive piece. The resources work like this:

• Stone builds an attack tower.
• Gunpowder builds a cannon.
• Ice creates an ice wall.
• Logs create an attack turret.
• Gold forms a chest holding extra swaps and similar rewards.

Three matching weapons or walls placed side by side can be merged into a stronger unit. The catch is that merging removes pieces from the map, so you trade coverage for power. Swaps are limited before each attack, so every one counts. Before a boss round the game shows an arrow pointing at the area where the dragon will appear, which tells you where to concentrate your defenses.

Tips

• Watch the boss arrow and build toward that side of the map instead of spreading evenly.
• Think before you merge. One strong unit is not always better than several smaller pieces covering more ground.
• Do not waste swaps on matches that do not become something useful. Gold chests can give you more moves, so they are worth setting up.
• Creating an account lets you earn gold, customise an avatar and join a clan, which gives the runs some lasting reward.
