OvO Dimensions is a precision platformer where you run, jump and slide through tricky courses. Play it free in your browser.
OvO Dimensions is a precision platformer in the OvO tradition: you steer a small stick-figure runner through compact obstacle courses where one mistimed jump sends you back to the start of the section. It is a very different animal from the endless climb on this site's headline game. Doodle Jump asks you to keep bouncing upward forever, while OvO Dimensions hands you a finished course and wants you to solve it cleanly.
A session is built from short attempts. You read the layout, try a route, fall, and try again with a little more control. Because restarts are quick, the game suits a five-minute break just as well as a long evening of chasing a perfect run. It plays in the browser with nothing to install.
Move with the arrow keys or WASD. The mouse is used to aim and to select things in the menus. On a phone or tablet, tap and swipe instead of using the keyboard.
The core of a run is momentum. Running, jumping and sliding all carry speed, and most courses are designed so that the fast route and the safe route are different paths. Early levels teach the basic jump arc, and later ones combine gaps, hazards and tight landings so that you have to chain moves together rather than perform them one at a time.
If you like the platforming here, Ovo 2 and the plain OvO game on this site are the closest relatives. Hoppenhelm and Bird Jumper also test your jump timing, in different styles. For something that keeps the vertical bouncing feel of the headline game, try Helix Jump, where you guide a ball down a tower instead of up.
OvO Dimensions suits players who enjoy trial-and-error challenges and do not mind repeating a short stretch until it clicks. It is best on a keyboard, but it is playable on a phone in a pinch.
