Merge Party is a merge-matching arcade game, and it has almost nothing in common with the jumpers and runners that fill the rest of this catalogue. There is no platform to land on and nothing to dodge. You manage a board of small animal characters called Ogos, and your job is to combine identical ones into something better.

The rhythm is calm and incremental. You pick two matching Ogos, merge them, and the result is a higher-tier creature that earns you more. Coins drop as you go, you collect them, and you spend them to bring in new Ogos. Each session grows a little larger than the last. It suits anyone on Doodle Jump who wants a slower break between runs, where the only thing at stake is how efficiently you use the board.

How to play

Everything is done with the mouse or a finger tap. Select one Ogo, then click a second identical one to merge them. Click the coins that appear to collect them. Spend that money by clicking an Ogo egg to buy a new character, and you start with a Dogogo.

A typical loop looks like this:

1. Buy an egg when you can afford it, which puts a new low-tier Ogo on the board.
2. Find two identical Ogos and merge them into the next tier.
3. Collect the coins that pop out and put them toward the next egg.

Because the controls are only clicks, this is a game for short sessions. You can stop and pick it up again without relearning anything.

Tips

• Do not let the board fill with unmatched singles. Space is what limits you in any merge game, so merge as soon as you have a pair.
• Collect coins promptly and buy eggs steadily. A growing supply of cheap Ogos is what feeds the higher tiers.
• Before you buy another egg, check the board for pairs you have missed.
