Endless Runners

Run from the demon monkeys in Temple Run 2: turn, jump and slide through an endless temple path. Plays free in your browser, no download.

Temple Run 2 is the endless runner that taught a generation of phone players to swipe without thinking. You are an explorer who has grabbed a golden idol and now has a pack of demon monkeys on your heels. There is no finish line. The path just keeps coming, and the only question is how far you get before one mistake ends the run.

A run is short and tense. You start sprinting immediately, the track bends left and right, gaps and fallen trunks appear, and the speed creeps up the longer you survive. Most runs end in under a minute while you are still learning, which makes it an easy "one more try" game. This version loads in the browser with nothing to install.

If you came to Doodle Jump for its reflex-driven, one-more-go feel, this plays on the same instinct. Doodle Jump asks you to keep climbing. Here you keep moving forward, and both punish a late reaction.

How to play

Use the arrow keys or WASD to move. On a computer the mouse handles aiming and menu selection, and on a phone you tap and swipe. In Temple Run games the core moves are the same everywhere:

  • Turn left or right when the path bends. Turn too early or too late and you run off the edge.
  • Jump over gaps and low obstacles.
  • Slide under branches and other overhead hazards.
  • Steer slightly left or right within the path to pick up coins and dodge side obstacles.

Coins collected along the way add to your score. The aim is a longer run than your last one, so each attempt is a small personal-best chase.

Tips

  • Look ahead of the character, not at it. The obstacle that kills you is the one you noticed too late, and your eyes should be a few steps up the path.
  • Make short, deliberate inputs. Holding a key or mashing it usually causes a wrong turn or a mistimed jump.
  • Do not chase every coin. A coin line that pulls you toward an edge is not worth a lost run, especially early on when survival matters more.
  • If a keyboard feels awkward, try the other layout. Some players find WASD easier for quick turns, others prefer the arrows.

For another game about reflexes under pressure, try Helix Jump, where you guide a bouncing ball down a tower instead of running forward. Ovo 2 is a precision platformer with a running and wall-jumping feel, and it rewards memorising the layout rather than reacting on the fly. Bird Jumper stays closer to the vertical jumping of Doodle Jump itself.

Temple Run 2 suits short breaks on a keyboard or a phone, and it needs no setup beyond opening the page.
