Archer Defense is an archery action game built around a single idea: you are a lone archer holding a fixed position, and waves of enemies keep coming. You start with a basic bow and little else. Every wave you survive pays out, and that currency goes straight back into a stronger bow and new arrow types, so the defense you are running at minute one is nothing like the defense you are running at minute ten.

A session starts slow, almost meditative, while the first few enemies stroll into range. It does not stay that way. Waves get bigger and faster, and the game turns into a constant juggle of picking the right target, leading your shot, and deciding when to spend a power-up instead of saving it. Runs are short by design, and losing just means starting over smarter.

If you came to Doodle Jump for tight, one-more-go arcade play, this scratches the same itch from a different angle: it is less about dodging and more about staying calm while the pressure mounts.

How to play

On desktop, hold the left mouse button to aim, then release to shoot. You line up each shot against enemies that are walking toward you, so it is less about speed and more about placing the arrow where the target is about to be. On a touchscreen, tap and hold to aim and lift your finger to fire.

Power-ups are used through the on-screen buttons that appear during a run. The main ones are bomb arrows, which clear a small cluster; multi-shot, which splits your fire; and freeze arrows, which slow a wave down so you can thin it out. Between waves, spend what you have earned on upgrading your bow rather than hoarding it.

Tips

• Lead moving enemies. Arrows travel, so aim ahead of a target that is walking rather than at it.
• Save freeze arrows for the moment a big group is about to reach you. Slowing the front of a wave gives you room to pick off the stragglers behind it.
• Upgrade early. Later waves scale up quickly, and a bow that falls behind makes every later wave harder than it needed to be.
