Cat Clicker — Play Free Online
Arcade & SkillCat Clicker is a free browser idle game: tap the cat, buy upgrades from Cursor to Galaxies, and watch your total grow. No download needed.
Cat Clicker is an incremental game in the same family as the cookie-clicker classics: you click a cat, the counter goes up, and the counter pays for upgrades that make it go up faster. There is no fail state and no timer. The whole game is the small pleasure of watching a number you started by hand-clicking turn into something that grows while you do nothing.
It suits the Doodle Jump crowd for the opposite reason from most of this site. Doodle Jump asks for constant attention, while Cat Clicker is a game you can leave open in a tab, come back to, and spend a minute deciding what to buy next. It runs in the browser with nothing to install.
The game is built as an Adobe Animate HTML5 project, so it loads quickly and stays light on older laptops and Chromebooks.
How to play
Everything runs on the mouse or a finger. Click or tap the cat to earn points, then open the upgrade list and spend them. The upgrade ladder climbs from small, hands-on items such as a Cursor and a Mouse, through farm-style items such as Milk, Grass and Fields, up to cosmic ones: Planets and Galaxies. Each entry shows a cost and, when you cannot afford it yet, tells you what you still need.
Later in the game there are prestige-style options, labelled Cat Rebirth and Cat Sacrifice. They reset part of your progress in exchange for a lasting reward, which gives a long session a second layer once the early upgrades stop feeling exciting. An optional button offers a free bonus in exchange for watching an ad. You can skip it and lose nothing important.
The game stores your progress in your browser's local storage, so closing the tab does not wipe it. Clearing site data or switching browsers will start you from zero, and a browser that blocks local storage will show a warning instead of saving.
Tips
- Early on, buy the cheapest upgrade that earns on its own, because passive income lets you keep progressing without clicking.
- Compare cost against what an upgrade adds before buying. The most expensive item is not always the best value.
- Wait before using a rebirth or sacrifice. Reset only when your progress has clearly slowed, so the reward is worth the lost upgrades.
- Leave the tab open between sessions. Idle gains are the point of the genre.

If you want a game that demands your reflexes instead, try Helix Jump, where you guide a bouncing ball down a tower, or Bird Jumper, a more direct take on the endless-climb idea. For a slower, strategic pace, Bloons Tower Defense 2 asks you to plan and place before anything happens, and Fireboy and Watergirl gives you puzzle rooms to solve with a friend.
Cat Clicker fits a short break, a quiet moment between rounds of something harder, or any time you would rather tap a cat than dodge platforms.
