Play Linebacker Alley 2 free in your browser: juke, spin and sprint past chasing defenders, then spend your earnings on upgrades. No download needed.
Linebacker Alley 2 is an American football dodge game with no playbook and no passing. You carry the ball and try to get downfield while a pack of defenders closes in from the front and the sides. It is closer to an endless runner than to a football simulation, and a run is over the moment someone brings you down.
Each attempt is short and the next one starts straight away. That makes it a good fit if you came to Doodle Jump for quick, score-chasing rounds where one mistake ends everything. The skill here is reading space and cutting at the right moment, not climbing.
It is built with the Phaser engine and runs in the browser with nothing to install. The game has separate menus for upgrades, options and credits, so you spend what you earn between runs and get a bit stronger each time.
Move with the arrow keys or WASD. On a phone, tap and swipe. Running in a straight line works for a few steps, then a defender gets an angle on you. Watch where the gaps are and change direction before a tackler is close, not when they are already reaching.
The game also has special moves. Players report W as a speed burst and S as a spin, and the on-screen prompts in the game will show you which keys do what. Treat them as limited tools. Save them for the moment you are about to be caught rather than using them as soon as they are available.
Between runs you can spend what you collected on upgrades. Since progress comes from those purchases, a mediocre run still moves you forward.
If you like dodging obstacles under pressure, Bird Jumper and Hoppenhelm are other quick-restart runners and jumpers on this site. Bouncy Basketball is a sports pick with a very different, physics-based feel. Doodle Jump itself asks you to keep climbing with simple left and right control, while Linebacker Alley 2 asks you to pick a path through moving opponents.
It suits short breaks on a keyboard, and it also works with touch controls on a phone or tablet.

You run with the football, dodge the defenders trying to tackle you and get as far as you can. A run ends when you are tackled.

The controls list tap and swipe for phones, and it is an HTML5 game, so it should run in a modern mobile browser.
