Play Chrome Dino free in your browser: time your jumps over cacti and duck under birds as the desert run speeds up with every step.
Chrome Dino is the little pixel T-rex from the "no internet" screen in Chrome, turned into a game you can play on purpose. There is one button and one goal: keep running. The desert scrolls past, cacti rise out of the ground, and the whole thing gets steadily faster until a single mistimed jump ends the run.
That makes it a natural neighbour for Doodle Jump on this site. Both are about rhythm and a score that you try to beat on the next attempt, and both reward staying calm more than fast reflexes. A run takes under a minute when it goes badly and a few minutes when it goes well, so it fits the gaps between longer games.
It runs in the browser with nothing to install, and a restart is instant, which is why "one more try" tends to turn into twenty.
The dino runs on its own. You only decide when to jump and, in the classic version, when to duck. On a keyboard the usual keys are Space or the Up arrow to jump and the Down arrow to duck. On a phone or tablet, tap the screen to jump. The control hint shown on this page is a generic one, so if the arrow keys or WASD do nothing, try Space first.
Your score climbs with distance. Obstacles are small and large cacti, sometimes in groups, and later in a run flying birds join in at different heights. Low birds can be jumped, while high ones can be ducked under. Hitting anything ends the run, and you start again from zero.
If you like the one-button tension here, Bird Jumper is another timing game where a single input does all the work. Ovo 2 and OvO game ask for more precise movement across platforms, which is a step up in control. Helix Jump swaps the side-scrolling run for a falling ball and a rotating tower.
Chrome Dino suits anyone who wants a very short session, a keyboard or a touchscreen, and a score they can try to improve in a minute or two.

Yes. It plays free in your browser on doodlejump.io with no download or account.
It is an HTML5 game, so it runs in a modern browser on phones, tablets and Chromebooks, and you can tap to jump on a touchscreen.
Your score rises with the distance you run, so the aim is to survive longer. Jump early, watch the gap ahead and commit to each jump or duck.
