Explore a pixel-art island as Lucky the ninja cat, chat with villagers and take on sports mini-games. Play Doodle Champion Island free in your browser.
Doodle Champion Island is not a jumper at all, which is what makes it an odd and welcome neighbour on a site built around Doodle Jump. It started as an interactive Google Doodle for the Tokyo Olympics: a small 16-bit style island where you play as Lucky, a cat who is also a ninja, wandering between villagers and sports challenges instead of climbing an endless tower.
A session is closer to a pocket adventure than an arcade run. You explore the island, talk to characters, pick up quests, and step into short sports mini-games, each with its own rules. Joining one of the island's teams and working through the challenges is the thread that holds it together, so it suits a relaxed ten or twenty minutes better than a frantic thirty-second attempt.
It runs in the browser with nothing to install, which makes it easy to pick up between rounds of the faster games on the site.
Move with the arrow keys or WASD, and use the mouse to aim and to select menu options and dialogue choices. On a phone or tablet, you tap and swipe instead. Walk up to a character or a challenge marker to start it.
The mini-games mix reflexes and timing. Some are about hitting a ball at the right moment, others about running, climbing or steering a character through a routine. Each one explains its own inputs when it begins, so read the prompt before your first attempt rather than mashing keys.
If you want the same cartoon charm with a tighter loop, Doodle Jump is the one-button-climb classic this site is named after. Bird Jumper and Hoppenhelm keep the jumping but add their own obstacles. For something with more of a puzzle-adventure feel, Fireboy and Watergirl asks two characters to cooperate through temples, while Ovo 2 is a precise platformer where one mistake sends you back.
It suits players who like a gentle, varied game with a bit of story, and anyone who wants a break from endless high-score chasing.
Use the arrow keys or WASD to move and the mouse to aim and select. On a phone or tablet, tap and swipe. Each mini-game also shows its own prompt when it starts.
No. It is an exploration game with sports mini-games, in which you play a ninja cat on an island. It is much slower paced than Doodle Jump.
Yes. It plays free in your browser on doodlejump.io, with no download or account.
