Mine Blocks — Play Free Online
Puzzle & BrainMine Blocks is a 2D sandbox game where you dig, craft and build in a blocky world. Play it free in your browser, no download needed.
Mine Blocks takes the familiar Minecraft formula — digging, crafting and building — and flattens it into a side-on, blocky world you can tunnel straight through. You spawn on a procedurally generated map of grass, dirt, stone and ore, and nearly everything on screen is a block you can break, collect and place somewhere new. There is no timer and no level to clear; the goal is whatever you decide to make.
It began as a Flash game by indie developer Zanzlanz and was later rebuilt in HTML5, and it keeps the simple appeal that made it popular: a world, a set of tools, and the freedom to use them at your own pace. That makes it a welcome change of tempo on Doodle Jump, where the headline game pushes you to climb as fast as possible. Mine Blocks invites the opposite — slow down, dig in, and build something.
How to play
Move with WASD or the arrow keys, and jump with W or Space. The mouse does the real work: point at a nearby block and click and hold to break it, which drops the block into your inventory. Select a block in the hotbar and right-click on an empty space to place it, or right-click and hold to use food and other items. Press E to open your inventory, where gathered materials can be crafted into tools and armor. Double-tap A or D to sprint, and in Creative mode double-tap W or Space to fly. Every binding can be reviewed and changed in the settings menu.
Tips
- Grab wood first. Breaking a few tree trunks gives you the base material for your first tools, which mine stone and ore far faster than clicking with bare hands.
- In Survival, wall off a small shelter early. Creepers and zombies will wander over while you are still gathering, and a quick fence of dirt beats a frantic retreat.
- Plan big builds in Creative. You have unlimited blocks and can fly, so use it to lay out a design before spending Survival resources on it.

If you like the blocky, self-directed side of Mine Blocks, Fireboy and Watergirl turns two-character puzzle platforming into a co-op challenge, while Bloons Tower Defense 2 asks you to build defenses instead of buildings. Hoppenhelm offers the opposite pace — fast, single-screen platforming with quick restarts — when you want something snappier.
Mine Blocks suits players who want a keyboard-and-mouse session with no pressure to finish anything, whether that means ten minutes of tunnel-digging or an afternoon of building a whole village.
