Sugar, Sugar 2 is a drawing puzzle. Grains of sugar pour from a spout at the top of the screen, a cup or two sits near the bottom, and the only tool you get is a line. Draw a ramp, a bridge or a funnel so the falling sugar ends up in the cup, and the level is done.

It is a different kind of game from the jumpers and runners that fill most of this site. Nothing here punishes a slow reaction. You can stop, look at the layout, rub out your thinking and try again, and a level usually takes a minute or two. That makes it a good change of pace after a run of Doodle Jump, where every second counts.

How to play

The game is played by drawing. On a computer, hold the mouse button and drag to lay down a line; on a phone or tablet, draw with your finger. Sugar will not pass through a line you have drawn, so it slides along it and drops off the end. The arrow keys and WASD listed in the catalogue entry are not what the puzzle is about, because the pointer does the work.

Each cup has a target, shown on the cup itself, for how much sugar it needs. Let the stream run until the cups are full. Later levels add coloured filters that change the sugar passing through them, and cups that want a particular colour, so where you place a line decides which cup gets which grains.

Tips

• Start with a steep, short line. A shallow slope slows the sugar and lets it pile up where you do not want it.
• Draw several small lines rather than one long one. Overlapping ramps give you more control over where the stream splits.
• Watch where grains escape. If sugar is spilling past the cup, a small lip at the cup's edge catches more than moving the whole ramp.
• If a level feels stuck, restart it and try a completely different layout instead of patching the old one.
