Puzzle & Brain

Sugar Sugar is a relaxing line-drawing puzzle: guide falling sugar into cups with your own lines. Play free in your browser.

Sugar Sugar is a line-drawing physics puzzle with a very simple promise: sugar pours from a spout at the top of the screen, and you have to get it into the cups waiting below. There is no character to steer and no timer. You draw lines, the grains fall, and the lines you drew decide where they end up.

A session is calm and a little hypnotic. Each level is short, so it fits into a few spare minutes, but the later boards ask for more thought than the opening ones. If you come from Doodle Jump for quick, one-more-try play, this is the slower, thinking-first cousin of that rhythm.

How to play

The key action here is drawing, not moving. Click and drag with the mouse to sketch a line on the board; on a phone or tablet, drag a finger instead. The sugar begins flowing, rolls along whatever you drew and drops into a cup. The arrow keys and WASD listed for the other games on the site do not do much here, since this is a pointer game.

Each cup shows a number, which is how many grains it needs. Fill every cup and the level is complete. Lines you draw stay in place and the sugar slides off them, so a gentle slope guides it and a flat stretch lets it pile up.

Later levels add wrinkles, such as coloured filters that tint the sugar so it can only fill a cup of the matching colour, and obstacles that you have to route around. Read the whole board before you draw the first line.

Tips

  • Look at where the spout sits and which cup is farthest away, then draw toward that one first.
  • A short, steep line moves grains quickly; a long shallow one slows them and gives you better aim.
  • Do not over-draw. Extra lines often send grains where you did not want them, so use as few as you can.
  • If a level goes wrong, restart it instead of patching it. A clean attempt usually beats a messy one.

Similar games on Doodle Jump

Ovo 2 and Bird Jumper put you in direct control of a character, so reflexes matter most. Fireboy and Watergirl is the closest in spirit on this site, because it is also about working out a layout before you act. Helix Jump is quick and rhythmic, whereas Sugar Sugar rewards patience and planning.

It suits anyone who likes puzzles with no time pressure, and works equally well with a mouse or a touchscreen.
