Fireboy and Watergirl 6: Fairy Tales — Play Free Online
Puzzle & BrainGuide two heroes, Fireboy and Watergirl, through fairy-tale puzzle rooms in this free co-op browser platformer. Play it solo or with a friend.
Fireboy and Watergirl 6: Fairy Tales is a co-op puzzle platformer in which you steer two characters through the same level at once. Fireboy can wade through lava but dies in water; Watergirl swims freely but burns in lava. Both of them are killed by green goo. Every room is built around those rules, so the job is never simply to run to the exit. It is to work out how two very different characters can get each other across.
This entry swaps the series' usual temple setting for a storybook look. The rules are the ones you already know if you have played the other games in the series: collect gems in your own colour, press buttons, pull levers, shove blocks, and get both characters to their doors. Rounds are short and quiet, and you can stop after one stage or push through a whole run.
It suits anyone on a jumping site who wants a break from reflex play. A little timing helps, but this game is mostly about thinking and cooperating, and it runs in the browser with nothing to install.
How to play
On a keyboard, the arrow keys move Fireboy and WASD moves Watergirl, so two people can share one keyboard. Playing alone, you switch between the two hands, or between characters, as the level demands. On a phone or tablet, the game uses on-screen touch controls instead.
A level ends when Fireboy is standing at his door and Watergirl is standing at hers at the same time. Gems are optional but they are the point of the scoring, and a lot of them are tucked behind a detour that needs both characters to cooperate. If either character dies, the level restarts.
Tips
- Before you move, look at the whole room and trace each character's route to their door. Most puzzles are solved in your head first.
- Remember who is safe where: red pools for Fireboy, blue pools for Watergirl, and green goo for neither.
- When a button holds a platform or gate open only while it is pressed, one character has to stay put on it. Send the other one through, and then plan how the first catches up.
- Pushable blocks can bridge gaps or hold buttons down for you, so try them before hunting for a trick.

The original Fireboy and Watergirl and Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple are the closest relatives here, with the same two-character rules in a different setting. Ovo 2 is a solo precision platformer if you want movement and wall jumps with no co-op. Doodle Jump itself is the opposite pace: one thumb, one endless climb.
If you are playing with a friend, this is one of the better picks on the site, because it is built around two people and does not need a second controller.
