Draw The Hill turns the usual driving game around: nobody hands you a road. A small car sits at the start of a course, and the ground it needs is whatever you sketch with a pencil. Draw a ramp, a bridge or a plain sloping line, watch the car roll onto it, and keep drawing ahead of it before it runs out of surface.

It is a physics toy as much as a runner. The car, its wheels and the lines you make all behave like real objects, so a lumpy hill throws the car around and a smooth one carries it. Rounds are short, the score is distance, and a restart is one tap away, which makes it easy to play for two minutes or for twenty.

How to play

The run is measured in distance, and the game keeps your best result and flags a new one when you beat it. Coins appear along the course and add to a balance you can spend in the car selection screen, where several different vehicles are offered at different prices. A reward button lets you take extra coins for watching an advert, and that is optional.

Tips

• Draw slightly ahead of the car, not under it. A line that appears at the last moment is usually too steep.
• Keep slopes gentle. A short, sharp bump launches the car and flips it, while a long curve keeps the wheels planted.
• Join each new line to the end of the previous one without leaving a step, because a small lip can stop the car dead.
• Detour toward coins only when the line stays smooth. A lost run costs more than a few coins gain.
