Fish Squad is a free action and shooting game: move with WASD or arrows, aim with the mouse and play instantly in your browser.
Fish Squad is an action and shooting game that plays in a single browser tab. You steer a character with the keyboard, aim with the mouse and fire at whatever is coming for you, so the whole game is about positioning and timing: where you stand, where you point and when you pull the trigger.
It is a different kind of pick from the page's headline game, Doodle Jump. Doodle Jump is one-axis, one-thumb jumping. Fish Squad gives you free movement and a separate aiming hand, which means more to juggle and a higher skill ceiling. What the two share is the short-session rhythm: you load the page, play a few rounds, and stop whenever you like.
The game runs as an HTML5 build, so there is nothing to install and no account to make. The listing credits Poki as the publisher.
On a keyboard, move with the arrow keys or WASD. Aim with the mouse, and use the mouse for menu choices too. On a phone or tablet the same actions move to the touchscreen: tap and swipe instead of using keys and a cursor.
Moving and aiming are separate inputs. Keep one hand on the movement keys and the other on the mouse, and make small adjustments instead of large swings. Menus are mouse or tap only, so you will need a hand free for them between rounds.
If you want something with more shooting, a few other pages here are worth a look. Day D Tower Rush is also about defending against incoming enemies, though it leans on strategy more than aim. Bloons Tower Defense 2 is a pure tower-defence game where you place units instead of aiming a weapon. If you would rather jump than shoot, Helix Jump and Bird Jumper stay closer to the Doodle Jump style.
Fish Squad suits short breaks on a laptop or Chromebook with a mouse. It also works on a phone if you prefer touch.
