Snake Solver is a free browser puzzle where you guide a snake to its apple, planning each move so the growing body never traps you.

Snake Solver takes the snake from the old phone-and-arcade classic and turns it into a thinking game. Instead of racing against a speeding tail, it sits in the Puzzle & Brain category: the point is to work out a route, not to react quickly. The loading screen shows a snake and an apple, which tells you the basic idea before the first level starts.

It suits short sessions. You can open it in the browser with nothing to install, try a puzzle, stop whenever you like, and come back later. On Doodle Jump, where most games reward quick reflexes and timing, it is a slower change of pace for when you want to think a move through.

How to play

Move the snake with the arrow keys or WASD. The mouse is used to aim and to pick options in the menus. On a phone or tablet you tap and swipe instead. The game runs in the browser as an HTML5 build, so a keyboard is the most comfortable way to play, but touch works.

The snake still grows and can still block itself, so each move changes the space you have left. Treat every level as a small planning problem: look at the whole board before you commit to the first step.

Tips

Trace the route in your head from the apple back to the snake before you move. Dead ends are easier to spot backwards.
Do not rush the first move. Early moves usually decide whether you get boxed in later.
If a puzzle feels stuck, restart it and try the opposite direction first. A fresh attempt is quicker than undoing a bad route.
