How to play

You can control the rhythm inputs using your keyboard. By default, use the Arrow keys or WASD to hit the corresponding left, down, up, and right notes. Press Enter to confirm selections in the menu, and use Escape or Backspace to pause or return to previous screens.

During a song, arrows drift upward continuously. Missing notes or mistiming keystrokes chips away at your tug-of-war health gauge at the bottom of the screen. • Do not spam keys during misses: Wildly mashing buttons when you lose track of the rhythm drains your health bar far faster than missing a single arrow. Pause for a split second to lock back into the beat.
• Use two hands if comfortable: If default Arrow key controls feel cramped during fast streams, consider placing your left hand on WASD and your right hand on the Arrow keys for balanced finger coordination.
• Start on lower difficulty settings: B-Sides features significantly denser note charts than the original game. Testing unfamiliar tracks on Normal helps you memorize syncopated rhythms before tackling Hard.
