Stack Colors — Play Free Online

Arcade & Skill

Steer a rolling tower of blocks and grab only the color you hold in Stack Colors, a quick one-hand arcade game that plays free in your browser.

Stack Colors is a hypercasual arcade game from Voodoo about steering a tower of colored blocks down a lane and collecting only what matches. There is no jump button and no enemy to fight — the whole challenge is reading the color you are carrying and reacting to the next block before it is too late.

The stack rolls forward on its own. Blocks in a handful of colors lie scattered across the track, and every one of them is either fuel or damage: a matching block makes your tower taller, while a mismatched one strips layers away and wipes the progress you have built. A run is over in a minute or two, which is why it sits so comfortably next to Doodle Jump — both are games where one slip ends the attempt and you immediately want one more go.

It is a one-hand game at heart. On a phone you play in portrait with a thumb, and on a computer you drag with the mouse. It runs straight in the page, so there is nothing to install and no account to set up before the first block is on the track.

How to play

Steering is the whole input. Hold the left mouse button and drag to move your stack left or right; on a touchscreen, swipe the same way. The tower keeps moving forward on its own, so your only job is lining it up with the right blocks.

  • Only pick up blocks that match the color you are currently holding. Each correct block you roll over adds to the stack.
  • Roll over a different color and you lose blocks from the stack, and any fever progress you had is reset.
  • Matching cleanly without a mistake fills the fever meter. In fever mode every block on the track becomes one color and obstacles disappear, so for a few seconds you can scoop up everything without risk.
  • At the finish line, tap quickly to launch your blocks. The more blocks you are carrying and the more force you put in, the farther they fly and the bigger the reward.

Tips

  • Watch the color your stack is showing, not the blocks themselves. A block is only good or bad relative to what you are carrying, so keep your eyes on the tower and treat everything ahead as a match-or-avoid decision.
  • A clean streak beats a greedy one. Missing a block costs nothing, but grabbing a wrong color costs your stack and your fever meter, so steering wide of a risky block is almost always the safer play.
  • When fever mode triggers, stop dodging and start sweeping. Everything is one color and obstacles are gone for a few seconds, so cross the lane aggressively and collect every block you can before it ends.

Similar games on Doodle Jump

If you like the quick one-thumb rhythm, Helix Jump is the closest cousin — you guide a bouncing ball down a twisting tower of colored platforms. Fireboy and Watergirl is a slower, more thoughtful pick for when you want a two-player puzzle instead of a reflex test. And if the draw is that same restart-and-climb loop, the headline Doodle Jump itself is the obvious next hop.

Stack Colors suits short attention spans: a queue, a break, a bus ride. It works in portrait on a phone just as well as on a desktop, and because a run lasts only a couple of minutes it is easy to pick up and put down without losing anything.

Questions about Stack Colors

How do I control Stack Colors?

Hold the left mouse button and drag left or right to steer your stack. On a phone or tablet, swipe left and right instead.

What happens if I collect the wrong color?

You lose blocks from your stack and any fever progress you have built, so steer around colors that do not match the one you are holding.

How do I get a bigger score?

Stack the correct color without a mistake to fill the fever meter, then launch your blocks at the finish line with as much force as possible.

Can I play Stack Colors on a phone?

Yes. It is a portrait HTML5 game, so it works on a phone, tablet, or computer with nothing to install; swipe on touch, drag on desktop.
